Regional Minister for Mission

Graham is responsible for mission and strategy. This involves strengthening the way the YBA works as a whole and encouraging our churches in their Christian presence in the wider community and promoting the Home Mission scheme. This view of mission encompasses community action, evangelism, church planting, re-inagining the way we do church, social issues and working in partnership.

Graham is also responsible for co-ordinating child protection for the Association.

His role means that Graham works closely alongside churches in facilitating thinking about mission, running development & training days and preaching. It is also a priority to get out and spend time listening to and praying with ministers and groups from the churches.

Over a period of 13 years Graham spent time as the minister of two urban churches, one in Aston, Birmingham and the other in South Bank, between Middlesbrough and Redcar. Before joining the YBA Graham was the Chief Executive of the Churches Regional Commission for Yorkshire and the Humber - a charity which forges partnership between churches and public bodies, influences policy and negotiates resources.

Outside Yorkshire, Graham is a member of the Baptist Union's Mission Executive and Racial Justice Working Group. He is also a council member of the Yorkshire and Humber Faiths Forum and Chair of the National Community Forum, a body which acts as an independent sounding board for the government on policies that effect communities.
