Mr Pete Briggs

Pete came to faith through South Parade Baptist Church and was baptised there in December 1975, at the age of 16. He married Judith in 1983 and they have three adult children.

Pete studied Economics at Lancaster University, graduating in 1980. He returned to work in Leeds for Leeds City Council, where he qualified as a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) in 1984, followed by a spell with Bradford Metropolitan Council as a Senior Finance Officer. He has worked for Leeds Metropolitan University since 1988 where he is currently the Associate Director of Financial Services (Financial Control). Pete acts as Honorary Treasurer to the Students’ Union.

Pete has been involved in various areas of Church life at South Parade, including two stints as a Deacon and served as Church Treasurer between 2005 and 2007. He and Judith currently worship with the Cragg Hill mission community, where Judith has been the mission community Elder since 2009.

Pete has served the YBA since 2008, by providing advice to churches in the Mission Grants process and this past year he has been maintaining the Home Mission accounts on behalf of the Office. He was appointed Hon Treasurer of the Association at its AGM in June 2011.
