Huddersfield Area

There are 14 Baptist churches in the Huddersfield area. Huddersfield, a large market town, is part of the metropolitan borough of Kirklees. The town is the birthplace of  rugby league - and the late British Prime Minister Harold Wilson, whose memorial statue stands near Huddersfield's striking railway station in St George's Square - described by John Betjeman as  'the most splendid station facade in England' second only to St Pancras, London.
