Commissioned Ministries

Commissioned Ministries (CM) is a way of equipping creative mission through local churches as part of the YBA Mission Strategy - Living it out.
Core Aims
- To enable ministers and leaders to develop their expertise further whilst remaining in their local context.
- To find ways of spreading the experience in local church more widely in order to equip local mission and presence.
- To connect with BUGB, BMS World Mission and ecuemical priorities, and provide rooted application in one region
Each CM takes a theme which has been identified through consultation among churches and leaders, and in conversation with the Baptist Union, BMS World Mission and other Christian partners.
Each Commissioned Ministry is a 2 year process which involves:
- Listening to churches and other partners with expertise
- Theological reflection
- Ways of encouraging churches
- Training and development inputs
- The provision of accessible resources
The YBA runs 3 Commissioned Ministries at any one time.
This allows the YBA to be flexible in what it does and to focus in a number of areas over a period of time.
Commissioned Ministries are part funded by Home Mission and part by the YBA. For 2007-2011 there is a total budget of £72,000.
