Trust Group
The Trust Group considers a wide variety of issues relating to trust matters, buildings, insurance, health & safety, and so on. In all cases, the issues brought to the group are considerd with an over arching view on the mission strategy of the church and how they can have a positive impact for the Kingdom.
Key issues presently or recently under consideration by the group include:
- Supporting Hope Baptist Church, Hebden Bridge as they consider their future mission strategy and undertake a feasability study on the use of their buildings.
- Offering guidance to Swarcliffe Baptist Church, Leeds regarding essential repairs to their premises.
- Working with Hunslet Baptist Church, Leeds as they pursue plans for an extensive redevelopment of their building. This includes significant work to a listed building, an additional challenge when dealing with a project of this magnitude.
- Supporting Doncaster Baptist Church as they look at a long term strategy for the church, how this will impact on the use of the building and what work will be needed to maintain/update their premises.
- Considering an appropriate format for the YBA Trust Register and looking at how this can be achieved. The vision for this is that it will provide a single reference point for the main trust information needed by the churches and the YBA team. Work continues and it is expected that this will be completed in May 2008.
- Working with Priory Baptist Church, Hull as they deal with the aftermath of the June 2007 floods both supporting their local community and dealing with damage to the church building.
- Consideration of the future handling of YBA church trust work following the departure of Trust Officer Allen Holmes to pastures new (!) and working with the Baptist Union Corp on ways forward.
