The YBA Assembly 2018

"THE YBA Staff Team is looking forward to seeing you at our 2018 YBA Assembly,  on Saturday, April 28th, at Wakefield Baptist Church," writes Association Administrator Debbie Gamble.

Ruth Rice"Refreshments will be available from 9.30am and our opening session will include a time of worship and keynote speech from Ruth Rice (pictured). Ruth is the founder of Renew Wellbeing, which helps churches open spaces of welcome and inclusion in partnership with mental health teams to improve mental and emotional wellbeing.

"The afternoon sessions will include seminars and opportunities to share stories with either the Regional Ministers or Roy Searle, BUGB Northern Pioneer Co-ordinator."

God at Work: In Hospitality and Well-Being - Led by Ruth Rice, whose background is in teaching and Baptist church ministry, and who is passionate about seeing churches reduce isolation and increase well-being in every community. Come and hear about Renew, which is already at work in the YBA through St Thomas Philadelphia Church in Sheffield and Bentley Baptist Church, Doncaster.

Jo WilliamsGod at Work: Conflict -  Led by the Revd Jo Williams, Director for Reconciliation at the Blackley Centre, Elland. Jo is a Baptist minister currently serving at Blackley Baptist Church and has over 20 years' experience of devising, and delivering high quality training in and for churches, colleges, and other organisations. Her seminar will give an introduction to good ways of transforming conflict within a church-setting.

Kez Robinson and Neil HudsonGod at Work: On the Frontline -  Led by YBA Mission Enabler the Revd Kez Robinson and Neil Hudson from the London Institute for Contemporary Christianity (LICC). Kez is a Baptist minister presently serving at Wakefield Baptist Church as well as her YBA role and Neil is Director (Church Relationships) with LICC. This seminar will look at how God uses us on our frontlines. By sharing stories and a simple framework, the seminar will look at how we can grow in the confidence that God is actually at work in these everyday places.

Story Sharing -  These sessions with the Regional Ministers and/or Roy will provide an opportunity for you to bring news of where you can sense God at work in your 'unexpected place'. 

Places do not need to be pre-booked but you will need to make your choice on arrival on the day. Each seminar and story-sharing session will be run twice.

Debbie adds: "The day runs from 9.30am to 3.30pm and includes the Association AGM before lunch. Please book your places now. We look forward to seeing you on the 28th."
