YBA Small Churches' Resource Day

Bookings Small Churches

BUILDING on the success of the YBA Small Churches’ Networking Day held in Haworth, a Small Churches’ Resource Day is being planned for November.

The day is a response to the positive feedback we received which highlighted a desire for churches to engage in practical steps for change and growth. It will equip churches to think about their future and offer opportunities for developing relationships with other Baptist communities. It should be a really exciting day!

What is it? The focus throughout the day will be on Mission Action Planning – also known as “Mapping”. In a nutshell this enables a church to look at where it is now, identify ways of moving forward in mission, thereafter review progress and celebrate its successes.

Who is it for? A “small” church generally has 40 or fewer members. However, some churches with more than 40 members might be interested in coming along. If you are interested in growing as a community this day is for you.

Who is leading the day? The YBA has invited Mark Ireland to lead the day - co-author of  the book “Mission Action Planning” and past Diocesan Missioner in Lichfield Diocese. Mark is an Anglican vicar with a wealth of experience in equipping and growing church communities of all sizes.

When and where?
Saturday, November 17th, 2018 at Wakefield Baptist Church (WF1 5JY), 9.30am to 3pm. Lunch and refreshments will be provided so you simply need to come, enjoy and be refreshed.

What next?
Book your place(s) by sending an email to Joolz - click here - by October 31st, 2018.
There is no charge for the day as all costs will be underwritten by the YBA in support of the hard work and faithfulness of our small churches across the Association.
We want to encourage churches to bring a team of folk along for the day. Initially we're happy to book places for up to six people from your church.
Please provide names of attendees, their roles in the church (if appropriate), a nominated email for further contact - plus details of any specific dietary requirements and accessibility needs.*
