Lent 2018 - Week 3

Lent 2018: Week 3: "Practising Humility"

Practising humilityREGIONAL Minister the Revd Mary Taylor writes: "Jesus humbled Himself, even to death on a cross. When we practise the habit of humility like Him, it is not about denigrating or hating ourselves, but about voluntarily taking the humbler place, allowing others to go ahead of us, not always seeking the limelight or the biggest share.

"When we take on a task, we can wait for others who will be blessed by us working together. When we listen, we expect to hear something of value from the other, who like us is a sinner, but is loved, forgiven and equipped with insight and vision.

"We remind ourselves that God’s truth and God’s work is bigger than we have yet seen or we can accomplish, and we cannot do this without the other. Listen to the Litany of Humility. How is the Holy Spirit nudging you today?"
