This is an initiative designed to be an ordinary and easy way to start talking about Jesus this Christmas.
We’ve heard so many wonderful testimonies from churches across the region who have made use of these resources. This year, YBA will not be distributing candy canes, so each local church will need to purchase their own directly. Once you’ve secured your candy canes, Please make the most of the resources available on this webpage.

This Christmas the YBA is again committed to helping start conversations, we want to help build connections, we want to help share the hope of Jesus in a simple and easy way.
How? Using a simple Candy Cane. It’s an ordinary and easy way to start talking about Jesus this Christmas
The YBA will provide all the guidance and resources your church needs to feel confident giving this a go.
Churches will need to get their own candy canes, but once you have them, all you need to do is have fun using them as conversation starters, give someone a small gift, and chat about the ‘mystery’ of the candy cane sweet.
It’s simple, it’s accessible, and it’s for everyone. The suggested conversation starters, a website link and QR code, even banners or posters, are all available free for your church.
This year we would love to help your church have easy, ordinary and accessible ways to talk about Jesus. That is what the ‘Candy Cane Mystery’ initiative is all about.

Sharing the Candy Cane Mystery with your church.
Poster
Download a poster (formatted for A3 or A4) to display in your church building/church notice board and places such as local community notice boards.
Post card
Download a postcard (6 x 4 inches) to get printed yourselves, to support your communications.
A quality local printer is Instaprint and would recommend single sided, 250gsm uncoated so that people can write notes on if they wish
Craft
The file includes instructions and collage template that can be used to discuss the different elements of the candy cane and how they point to Jesus. The file can be downloaded as a pdf. Some images are in colour, but the file has been designed to work well printed in black and white if prefered. The file is 3 A4 pages.

This Website is the destination for people who we talk to about the Candy Cane Mystery… When someone scans the QR code or goes directly to the website this is where it will be unpacked further and they have the opportunity to request prayer or find a Christmas gathering near them.
