Retired Ministers’ Fellowship - What next?
Revd John Claydon, retired Baptist minister, writes:
It was great to meet up together as retired ministers at New North Road Baptist Church, Huddersfield, back in July. It was a good and positive event, and we agreed to have a mix of Zoom and in person gatherings.
In November 2026 we will meet on Zoom and will have the opportunity for break out rooms and so allow for more conversations and time to pray together. As this is only our second time we will need to spend some time sharing ideas about how we use our time and consider locations for our in-person gatherings. You will be pleased to know that the YBA are being willing to pay for a meal at one of our gatherings!
A possible pattern for the year might be:
October/November - Zoom (being sure not to clash with the YBA Ministers’ Conference)
January - In person (being sure not to clash with Fresh Streams)
April - Zoom
July - In person
On the other hand, we may want to review this and avoid travelling in wintry conditions.
A number of locations have been mentioned as possible meeting places and these include: Leeds, York, the Sherburn area (not my suggestion, but happy to find something).
If you are a retired minister in the YBA, you should have received an email via the Admin Office containing the Zoom link. We will be connecting on Monday, 9th November 2026 between 10am and 12 noon.
Please do let me know if you are able to join us online on the 9th by dropping an email to me here
Yours in Christ,
John Claydon
