Biglife Training in Leeds

On Saturday 28 September, Grace Gospel Church in Hunslet was buzzing with conversation, prayer, and encouragement as around 25 people gathered for a day of discipleship training. The event was held in partnership with Biglife, a disciple-making movement that began in India and is now helping churches around the world rediscover simple, practical ways of sharing faith.

For the past six years, YBA has been working alongside Biglife, creating opportunities for churches in our Association to grow in disciple-making. This ongoing partnership has opened doors for training, encouragement, and fresh vision across the region.

The Leeds training was led by Peter Dunn, YBA’s Discipleship Enabler, together with pastor Ashenafi. Their teaching was down-to-earth and practical, showing how everyday Christians can talk about their faith and walk alongside others in their journey with Jesus. Participants didn’t just listen, they practised sharing their own stories and learned tools they could put into action straight away.

For Karen Gray, the day was both refreshing and encouraging. She reflected, “Even though we read a well-known Bible passage together, we all discovered something new. Hearing one another’s stories was really encouraging, and the diversity in how each of us first met Jesus was amazing. Practising sharing our stories will definitely make it easier to share with seekers. It was also exciting to meet others from across the city who are passionate about making disciples.”

By the end of the day, people left with fresh confidence and a renewed sense of calling, reminded that disciple-making isn’t complicated, but something every follower of Jesus can be part of.
